Endorsement: Tatooles for Inverness Village President

Under his leadership, the village became a home rule community and later created its first police department in 2009, among other accomplishments. He cites the police force…as one of the greatest achievements of his long tenure, an addition that he credits with enhancing village safety after years of contracting with other communities and saving about $14 million over the years.

In addition, Tatooles, an attorney, points to the village’s AAA bond rating, lack of debt and healthy cash reserves as proof of his board’s financial stewardship…Tatooles has a strong record, one that includes greater communication with residents and a commitment to preserving Inverness’ serene, bucolic appeal.

He wants — and deserves — the chance to build on his legacy with an eighth term.

His opponent in the April 1 election…declined participation in endorsement interviews and did not respond to requests for information on his candidacy…and gives us pause as to how accessible and open [he] would be if elected.

Tatooles is endorsed.
